Our Costa Rican SHB Tarrazu is a very clean coffee with a silky-smooth mouthfeel, medium body, good acidity, fruity aromas with hints of green apple, and flavors of citrus and chocolate. This coffee will surely impress you and open your eyes to the craft Coffee revolution. This is a washed coffee and it is a strictly hard bean from the Tarrazú region of Costa Rica. All of the beans are hand-picked throughout the harvest season to help ensure peak ripeness of the coffee cherries and the perfect cup.
This coffee is very versatile. It makes an excellent cup, whether you prefer espresso, French press, percolating, pour over, a traditional drip, or even cold brew. You will be pleased with the overall quality and the lack of bitterness.
The coffee currently available is produced in the Llano Bonito sub-region that is located within the Tarrazú region of Costa Rica. The Tarrazú region is one of the best coffee-growing regions in the world. The rich volcanic soils, the cooler mountain temperatures, and the consistent amount of rainfall annually contributes to practically ideal conditions for producing an excellent quality coffee bean.
Our current coffee is fully washed in a process that removes the outer husk of the coffee “cherry,” separating it from the bean inside, then washing the mucilage from the bean. The cleaned coffee beans are then dried in a drying oven or in the sunlight.
